DK Roofing was established in February 2021, a result of Damian’s vision after 18 years of honing his craft across various regions. Returning to his hometown of New Plymouth, Damian knew it was time to take the leap and start his own roofing company. Alongside him was his son, Kaydem, a fellow roofer who at that time had 6 years of industry experience. Together, they had the roofing expertise covered. Kaydem came up with the perfect name for their business—DK ROOFING, with ‘D’ for Damian and ‘K’ for Kaydem.
As the business grew, Damian’s wife, Lee Hare, who has a keen understanding of business, transitioned from helping out to fully managing the business side of things. “Working with family can be challenging, but when you have the right people in the right roles, then it can work. And it can really work if ‘everyone stays in their lanes!“. So far, it’s been a winning formula for us.
